Some moments stand out as proper milestones – the kind that make you take a step back, soak it all in, and realise just how far things have come. This weekend was one of those for Gin Chin, as our gin trailer had its grand debut at my cousin’s wedding.
It’s been a long time coming. From the first sketches on paper to sourcing the right materials, fitting out the bar, and making sure every little detail felt just right, this trailer has been a labour of love. But nothing quite prepares you for the moment you see it in action, pouring its first drinks and bringing people together over a proper glass of something good.

A Proper Shake Down
If you want to put a setup through its paces, do it at a wedding. A full evening of pouring, shaking, and topping up glasses meant we got a real feel for how the trailer works in action. Safe to say, we learned a few things – what needs tweaking, and how to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible.
But standing behind the bar, serving from our own trailer, was a proper moment. There’s still a bit of fine-tuning to do, a few finishing touches to add, but seeing it in action, lit up and buzzing with energy, was something special.
It’s one thing to picture how it will all work, but it’s another thing entirely to be there – gin in hand, music playing, and the sound of cheers, clinks, and plenty of happy faces all around.
What’s Next? The Alresford Show, Hampshire!
With the wedding now under our belts, it’s time for the trailer’s first big public event – The Alresford Show, Hampshire, in two weeks!
If you’ve never been, Alresford is one of Hampshire’s best country shows, packed with local producers, food stalls, craft drinks, and a great atmosphere. We’ll be there serving up Gin Chin’s best, chatting about the gins, and soaking up everything the day has to offer. If you’re heading that way, come and find us – we’ll be the ones with the shiny new bar and tasters of our Classic Dry Gin, and Rhubarb and Raspberry Gin.
On the Road with Gin Chin
This is just the start for the Gin Chin trailer. We’ve always wanted to create something that brings people together over proper drinks and good company, and now that the trailer is up and running, we’re excited to see where it takes us next.
From private parties and weddings to food festivals and pop-ups, there are already plenty of plans in the works. If you’re looking for something a bit special for your event, keep an eye out – we’ll be sharing more on how to book the trailer soon.
For now, though, we’re getting ready for Alresford, making those final tweaks, and counting down the days until we’re back behind the bar, pouring gin, serving up perfect G&Ts, and having a good time with everyone who stops by.
See you there?
