Box to box
Converting this old horse box into a gin bar has been a creative and rewarding project where I transformed an unused vehicle into a unique space for serving gin and tonics at events, and promoting Gin Chin’s bottled gin. The project began by stripping the interior of any old fittings, ensuring a clean slate for a fresh new design.
Day one of converting this horse box into a mobile branded gin bar was a full on day of cutting, measuring, and welding to make up the custom serving hatch which will be used to serve drinks from. Prior to this we had cleared out all the old wood panelling and centre dividing unit which once helped to safely transport horses.
The process of making this gin serving hatch was to remove the old steel work and make a boxed steel frame which was painted in red oxide to help stop rusting, as the trailer will be sitting outside for long periods either parked up, or at events. If anyone is interested in where the steel work was from, we used Google to search for the best steel for the size we required.
